Plans and Billing
ContextOwl uses flat pricing by workspace. Plans differ only by how many workspaces you get. You never pay per seat, and there is no usage metering. Every paid plan includes every feature.

Members are unlimited on every plan, so team size is only a suggestion, never a cap. A team of 50 can run on the free plan if they like, because members are never billed. Annual billing gives two months free.
Manage your plan
Open Admin > Plan to choose or change your plan and billing interval. Open Admin > Settings > Billing to see your current plan, the features it includes, members by role, update payment details, and download invoices.
Checkout, invoices, and the customer portal run through Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record.
Open source plan
Approved open source projects get the Open source plan. It includes every paid feature and 3 workspaces at no cost. That includes analytics for people and AI agents.
To apply:
- Open Admin > Plan.
- In the Open source plan card, select Apply.
- Enter the project name, the repository URL, the license, and a short description.
- Confirm that you maintain the project, or that its maintainers asked you to apply.
- Select Send application.
A project qualifies when its repository is public, it uses an OSI-approved license, and the docs that you host here are the docs of that project. We review each application by hand. The admin and billing members of your organization get the decision by email. While an application waits for review, you can withdraw it. An organization can send 3 applications in 30 days.
Wherever these docs say that a feature needs a paid plan, the Open source plan includes it too.
If you need more than 3 workspaces, choose a paid plan. When that plan ends, your organization returns to the Open source plan.
If a project stops being open source, we can end the plan. Your organization then moves to the free plan, and your docs stay online.
Billing role
Give a teammate the Billing role to manage the plan and payment details without granting broad content or member administration.
